Auction: "Under the Pergola", Oil on Linen, 8" x 8"

These freshly cut lilacs looked so good in the bright sunlight under the pergola in my yard. The soft, bushy flowers and round vase are a nice compliment to the straight table boards and the horizontal shadows cast from the pergola.  This painting is listed for auction on Dailypaintworks.

Auction: "Nature's Bounty", Oil on Linen, 6" x 6"

Spring has sprung.  Everyday I walk around my garden to see which flowers and plants are coming back to life.  The bleeding hearts are growing about 8" a day.  It's really incredible to see.  The daffodils have opened up and most of the flowers are already dying off.  I'll need to do a daffodil painting soon, otherwise I'll miss my window of opportunity.  Within the next week, the lilacs will be in full bloom.

For now, I decided to do a painting of the humble dandelion.  They are sprinkled across my lawn, adding color and interest.  "Nature's Bounty" was painted from life in one sitting.
