Small Paintings for Sale: Great Gift Ideas

These oil paintings would make great holiday gifts.  They look wonderful together in a grouping or would work nicely on their own.  They measure about 14" in each direction, including the 4" frame.  The flowers in these paintings were picked from my border garden right before the first frost.  Now I'll have to await the Spring in order to see a little color in front of my house.  It's amazing what joy flowers can bring. Thank you everyone who helped make our Open Studio a success this weekend.  We had many repeat clients and several people came through word of mouth.  Throughout the next couple of weeks, people are planning on coming back to take a second look.  It was great to talk to the inquisitive guests this weekend and we look forward to meeting up again.

"Deck the Walls" at the Lyme Art Assocation, Old Lyme, CT had a great crowd as usual and "Deck the Halls" at Gallery North, Setauket, NY opened on Friday, but we didn't have a chance to go.  Both exhibits will be open through the Christmas Holidays.  

Shoreline Arts Trail: Open Studios This Weekend

 My husband, Iacopo, and I are having our annual Open Studio event in conjunction with the Shoreline  Arts Trail.  It's a great opportunity to see our new artwork and then continue along the Arts Trail where 42 artists will open their studios to the public.  Artists will be showing works in cut paper, fiber, found objects, glass, jewelry, metal, mixed media, paint, photography, pottery, print-making, sculpture, textiles and more.

This year we'll have small paintings that would make great holiday gifts.  Our daughter is going to have an origami-making table for the younger ones.  We'll also have Trail Maps at our studio for people interested in visiting the other artists on the Trail.  For more information, click here for the Shoreline Arts Trail website.

Opening Reception: Deck the Walls

Come join us at the Opening Reception for "Deck the Walls" at the Lyme Art Association on Friday, November 21 from 5-7pm.  My husband's and my artwork will be on view in this group exhibit. Auction: "Beach at Sunset"

This is a study I did for a larger painting I am working on for our Open Studio next weekend.  We like to take walks on this beach as the sun is setting.
